### sec.161Y When court may make order—offender convicted of contravening order
A court sentencing an offender for an offence against section 161ZI may make a control order for the offender if the court considers that making the order is reasonably necessary to protect the public by preventing, restricting or disrupting the offender’s involvement in serious criminal activity.
A control order may be made under subsection (1) on the court’s own initiative or on application by the prosecutor.
