### sec.32 Obligation to respond and produce to the Assembly If a person attending before the Assembly does not— answer a question asked by the Assembly; or produce a document or other thing the Assembly ordered the person to produce to it; the Speaker may require the person to answer the question or produce the document or other thing. A person must comply with the Speaker’s requirement under subsection (1) unless the person makes an objection under subsections (3) and (4) . A person may object to answering the question or producing the document or other thing on 1 or both of the grounds mentioned in section 34 . The objection must be made directly to the Assembly or in writing and must state the grounds of the objection. The Assembly may order the person to answer the question or produce the document or other thing to the Assembly if— the person has not made an objection under subsections (3) and (4) ; or the person has made an objection under subsections (3) and (4) and the Assembly decides the person must answer the question or produce the document or other thing despite the objection. A person to whom an order under subsection (5) is directed must comply with the order.
