### sec.80 Preservation of rights if person becomes public service officer
On the appointment of a person holding office under this Act as a public service officer, the person’s service in the ombudsman office must be regarded as service as a public service officer.
Subsection (1) does not apply to a person holding office as the ombudsman, inspector of detention services, acting ombudsman or acting inspector of detention services if the person is guilty of misconduct in the office.

(sec.80-ssec.1) On the appointment of a person holding office under this Act as a public service officer, the person’s service in the ombudsman office must be regarded as service as a public service officer.
