### sec.72 Vacation of office The ombudsman is taken to resign office as the ombudsman and the inspector of detention services on becoming a candidate for election to— the Parliament of another State or of the Commonwealth; or the office of the chairperson, the mayor, the president, a councillor or a member of a local government; or an office in another State equivalent to an office mentioned in paragraph (b) . Under the Parliament of Queensland Act 2001 , section 67 (1) , the person holding office as the ombudsman and the inspector of detention services must resign on being nominated under the Electoral Act 1992 , section 84 , as a candidate for election. s 72 amd 2001 No. 81 s 146 ; 2022 No. 18 s 83 - (a) the Parliament of another State or of the Commonwealth; or - (b) the office of the chairperson, the mayor, the president, a councillor or a member of a local government; or - (c) an office in another State equivalent to an office mentioned in paragraph (b) .
