### sec.58 Appointment as ombudsman and inspector of detention services
The ombudsman is appointed by the Governor in Council.
The ombudsman is also appointed by the Governor in Council to be the inspector of detention services.
The ombudsman and the inspector of detention services are appointed under this Act and not under the Public Sector Act 2022 .
If a person stops holding office as the ombudsman, the person also stops holding office as the inspector of detention services.
If a person stops holding office as the inspector of detention services, the person also stops holding office as the ombudsman.

(sec.58-ssec.1) The ombudsman is appointed by the Governor in Council.
(sec.58-ssec.2) The ombudsman is also appointed by the Governor in Council to be the inspector of detention services.
(sec.58-ssec.3) The ombudsman and the inspector of detention services are appointed under this Act and not under the Public Sector Act 2022 .
