### sec.25 Witnesses’ oath on criminal trials Witnesses may be sworn on criminal trials in open court in the following form or to the like effect— ‘The evidence which you shall give to the court and jury sworn between our Sovereign Lady the Queen and the prisoner [ or prisoners or defendant] at the bar [ or the defendant] shall be the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth So help you God.’. hdg (prec s 26) om 1995 No. 24 s 33
