### sec.334K Ministerial power to suspend rental obligation
This section applies if the Minister is satisfied that, because of section 334I , the holder of an oil shale mining tenement for the land is not able to, or will not be able to, carry out any authorised activity for the mining tenement.
The Minister may decide to suspend the holder’s rental obligation for all or any part of the current term of the mining tenement.
However, the suspension can not take effect before 1 January 2009.
During the suspension the holder’s rental obligation does not apply.
In this section—
holder’s rental obligation means the holder’s obligation under this Act or a condition of the mining tenement to pay rent for the mining tenement.
