##### 81 Offences
(1) A person shall not refuse or fail, without reasonable excuse:
(a) to attend before the Merit Protection Commissioner;
(b) to be sworn or make an affirmation; or
(c) to answer a question or produce a document or record;
when so required in pursuance of this Act.
Penalty: Imprisonment for 6 months.
(2) A person shall not furnish information or make a statement to the Agency, a member or an authorized officer that is, to the knowledge of the person, false or misleading in a material particular.
Penalty: Imprisonment for 1 year.
(3) A person must not:
(a) obstruct or hinder:
(i) the Agency or a member or acting member in the performance of the Agency’s functions; or
(ii) a Review Committee or a member of a Review Committee (within the meaning of Division 2 of Part II) in the performance of the Committee’s functions; or
(b) disrupt a hearing of the Agency or such a Review Committee.
Penalty: Imprisonment for 6 months.
(4) An offence against subsection (1), (2) or (3) is punishable on summary conviction.
