### sec.85 Suspending lottery agent’s operations
This section applies if the chief executive believes—
a ground exists to direct the termination of an agency agreement; and
it is necessary to suspend the lottery agent’s operations—
in the public interest; or
to ensure the integrity of the conduct of lotteries by the lottery operator is not jeopardised.
The chief executive may suspend the lottery agent’s operations.
The suspension—
must be effected by written notice (a suspension notice ) given to the lottery agent with a show cause notice; and
operates immediately the suspension notice is given; and
continues to operate until the show cause notice is finally dealt with.
The suspension notice must state the reason for the decision to suspend the lottery agent’s operations.
The chief executive must promptly give a copy of the suspension notice to the lottery operator.
A lottery agent must not carry on operations while the agent’s operations are suspended.
Maximum penalty for subsection (6) —200 penalty units or 2 years imprisonment.
