### sec.179 Community financial report
A local government must prepare a community financial report for each financial year.
The community financial report for a financial year must—
contain a summary and an analysis of the local government’s financial performance and position for the financial year; and
be consistent with the general purpose financial statement for the financial year; and
include each measure of financial sustainability applicable to the local government for the financial year; and
be written in a way that can be easily understood by the community.
For subsection (2) (c) , a measure of financial sustainability applies to the local government for a financial year to the extent the financial management (sustainability) guideline states the measure applies to the local government for the financial year.

(sec.179-ssec.1) A local government must prepare a community financial report for each financial year.
(sec.179-ssec.2) The community financial report for a financial year must— contain a summary and an analysis of the local government’s financial performance and position for the financial year; and be consistent with the general purpose financial statement for the financial year; and include each measure of financial sustainability applicable to the local government for the financial year; and be written in a way that can be easily understood by the community.
(sec.179-ssec.3) For subsection (2) (c) , a measure of financial sustainability applies to the local government for a financial year to the extent the financial management (sustainability) guideline states the measure applies to the local government for the financial year.
- (a) contain a summary and an analysis of the local government’s financial performance and position for the financial year; and
- (b) be consistent with the general purpose financial statement for the financial year; and
- (c) include each measure of financial sustainability applicable to the local government for the financial year; and
- (d) be written in a way that can be easily understood by the community.
