### sec.106 Definitions for part In this part— agent means an agent of any of the following who is appointed under division 2 for an election— a registered political party that endorses a candidate in the election; a candidate in the election; a group of candidates for the election; a third party for the election. s 106 def agent ins 2023 No. 8 s 17 (2) associated entity — of a registered political party that endorses a candidate in an election—see section 112C (2) and (3) ; or of a candidate in an election—see section 112D (2) , (3) , (4) and (5) ; or of a group of candidates for an election—see section 112E (2) and (3) . s 106 def associated entity ins 2023 No. 8 s 17 (2) auditor means an individual who— has the qualifications or experience prescribed by regulation for this definition; and is not, and has never been, a member of a political party. s 106 def auditor ins 2023 No. 8 s 17 (2) bank statement , for an account with a financial institution— means a written record issued by the financial institution of all of the transactions carried out in relation to the account during a stated period; and includes a written record of the transactions printed from an online banking facility provided by the financial institution. s 106 def bank statement ins 2023 No. 8 s 17 (2) broadcaster means— the Australian Broadcasting Corporation continued in existence under the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Act 1983 (Cwlth) , section 5 ; or the Special Broadcasting Service Corporation continued in existence under the Special Broadcasting Service Act 1991 (Cwlth) , section 5 ; or the holder of a licence under the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 (Cwlth) ; and how to apply for a review. s 106 def information notice ins 2018 No. 9 s 29 loan means any of the following made other than by a financial institution or use of a credit card— an advance of money; a provision of credit or another form of financial accommodation; a payment of an amount for, on account of, on behalf of or at the request of an entity, if there is an express or implied obligation to repay the amount; a transaction (whatever its terms or form) that in substance effects a loan of money. s 106 def loan ins 2018 No. 9 s 29 amd 2023 No. 8 s 17 (3) participant , in an election, see section 106AB . s 106 def participant ins 2023 No. 8 s 17 (2) person acting on behalf of a candidate see section 111 (1) . person acting on behalf of a group of candidates see section 111 (2) . political activity ... s 106 def political activity om 2019 No. 30 s 220 (1) political donation , for division 1A , see section 113A . s 106 def political donation ins 2018 No. 9 s 29 prohibited donor , for division 1A , see section 113 (1) . s 106 def prohibited donor ins 2018 No. 9 s 29 recipient , of a gift or loan, means the entity to whom, or for the benefit of whom, the gift or loan was made. s 106 def recipient ins 2019 No. 30 s 220 (2) registered , for a third party in relation to an election, means registered under division 5A for the election. s 106 def registered ins 2023 No. 8 s 17 (2) registered industrial organisation means an organisation registered under a law of the State, another State or the Commonwealth about the registration of industrial organisations. register of agents means the register kept under section 116D . s 106 def register of agents ins 2023 No. 8 s 17 (2) register of third parties , for an election, means the register kept under section 127E (1) for the election. s 106 def register of third parties ins 2023 No. 8 s 17 (2) related political party has the meaning given by section 112A . s 106 def related political party ins 2023 No. 8 s 17 (2) relevant details , for a gift or loan, see section 109 . s 106 def relevant details amd 2019 No. 30 s 220 (4) relevant material means material produced as a result of incurring electoral expenditure, including, for example, an advertisement. s 106 def relevant material ins 2023 No. 8 s 17 (2) relevant third party , for an election, means— a registered third party for the election; or another third party that is required, under section 127D , to be registered for the election. s 106 def relevant third party ins 2023 No. 8 s 17 (2) reporting period means each of the following periods in a year— the period that starts on 1 January and ends on 30 June in the year; the period that starts on 1 July and ends on 31 December in the year. s 106 def reporting period ins 2023 No. 8 s 17 (2) required period , for an election, means 15 weeks after the polling day for the election or, if no poll is conducted, the day a poll would have been conducted if it were required. s 106 def required period ins 2017 No. 12 s 11 (2) restricted donation means a gift or loan that— is made by a prohibited donor to a political party;
