### sec.100 Notifying the results of an election
As soon as practicable after the result of a poll for an election is known, the electoral commission must, by notice in the approved form, declare—
the result of the poll; and
for a poll for the election of a mayor, the name of the mayor who has been elected; and
the names of each candidate who has been elected.
The electoral commission must ensure the notice is published on the electoral commission’s website, and in other ways the electoral commission considers appropriate.
The returning officer must ensure the notice is published on the website of the local government for which the election was held.
The electoral commission must not delay complying with subsection (1) or (2) merely because some ballot papers have not been received by the returning officer, if it is clear the votes recorded on the ballot papers could not affect the result of the election.
