### sec.700 Recovery of unpaid amount
This section applies if there is a charge under a relevant law and the charge or part of the charge is not paid by a person required under the relevant law to pay it.
The law society may recover from the person the unpaid charge, or the unpaid part, as a debt.
In this section—
charge includes—
contributions, dues, fees, levies or subscriptions that become payable on or after the commencement of this section; and
contributions, dues, fees, fines, levies or subscriptions that became payable before the commencement of this section.
(sec.700-ssec.1) This section applies if there is a charge under a relevant law and the charge or part of the charge is not paid by a person required under the relevant law to pay it.
(sec.700-ssec.2) The law society may recover from the person the unpaid charge, or the unpaid part, as a debt.
(sec.700-ssec.3) In this section— charge includes— contributions, dues, fees, levies or subscriptions that become payable on or after the commencement of this section; and contributions, dues, fees, fines, levies or subscriptions that became payable before the commencement of this section.
- (a) contributions, dues, fees, levies or subscriptions that become payable on or after the commencement of this section; and
- (b) contributions, dues, fees, fines, levies or subscriptions that became payable before the commencement of this section.
