### sec.644 Public hearings
A hearing before the committee must be open to the public, unless the committee directs that the hearing or a part of the hearing be closed to the public.
The committee may not direct that a hearing or a part of a hearing be closed to the public unless satisfied that it is desirable to do so in the public interest for reasons connected with—
the subject matter of the hearing; or
the nature of the evidence to be given.

(sec.644-ssec.1) A hearing before the committee must be open to the public, unless the committee directs that the hearing or a part of the hearing be closed to the public.
(sec.644-ssec.2) The committee may not direct that a hearing or a part of a hearing be closed to the public unless satisfied that it is desirable to do so in the public interest for reasons connected with— the subject matter of the hearing; or the nature of the evidence to be given.

- (b) the nature of the evidence to be given.
