### sec.50 Jury to be sworn The members of the jury must be sworn to give a true verdict, according to the evidence, on the issues to be tried, and not to disclose anything about the jury’s deliberations except as allowed or required by law. For the form of the oath, see the Oaths Act 1867 , sections 21 (Swearing of jurors in civil trials) and 22 (Swearing of jurors in criminal trials). Under the Oaths Act 1867 , section 17 , a juror may make an affirmation instead of an oath in certain cases (see also section 5 of that Act).
