### sec.40D Council may remove chancellor, vice-chancellor or chairperson from office
The council may remove the chancellor, vice-chancellor or chairperson from office if at least two-thirds of its members are satisfied the chancellor, vice-chancellor or chairperson has not complied with—
section 26A (2) ; or
a conduct obligation.
If the council decides to remove the chancellor, vice-chancellor or chairperson from office under subsection (1) , the council must as soon as practicable give the chancellor, vice-chancellor or chairperson notice of the decision and the reasons for it.
The chancellor’s, vice-chancellor’s or chairperson’s term of office ends on the later of the following—
the day he or she receives the notice;
the day, if any, stated in the notice for that purpose.

(sec.40D-ssec.1) The council may remove the chancellor, vice-chancellor or chairperson from office if at least two-thirds of its members are satisfied the chancellor, vice-chancellor or chairperson has not complied with— section 26A (2) ; or a conduct obligation.
