### sec.14 Information providers
A person is not an introduction agent only because the person ( information provider ) operates an information service if—
a person can obtain details of persons who might be interested in having a personal relationship, or in attending a social outing, with 1 or more other persons from the information service without the need to speak to, or to otherwise communicate personally and directly with, the information provider or an employee of the information provider; and
a person who gives information to the information provider or an employee of the information provider for the purpose of having the information given to other persons is not, by giving the information, placed under an obligation—
to use the service again; or
to pay a fee of more than the amount prescribed under a regulation or, if no amount is prescribed, of more than $100; and
a person to whom the information is given by the information provider is not, by using the information service, placed under an obligation—
to use the service again; or
to pay a fee of more than the amount prescribed under a regulation or, if no amount is prescribed, of more than $100.
Subsection (1) (b) (ii) and (c)(ii) does not apply if the fees for giving information to, or obtaining information from, an information service are based on the length of time a person has electronic or mechanical access to the information service and the length of the time is automatically recorded by electronic or mechanical means.
In this section—
information service means a service under which details of persons interested in having a personal relationship, or in attending a social outing, with 1 or more other persons are provided.
(sec.14-ssec.1) A person is not an introduction agent only because the person ( information provider ) operates an information service if— a person can obtain details of persons who might be interested in having a personal relationship, or in attending a social outing, with 1 or more other persons from the information service without the need to speak to, or to otherwise communicate personally and directly with, the information provider or an employee of the information provider; and a person who gives information to the information provider or an employee of the information provider for the purpose of having the information given to other persons is not, by giving the information, placed under an obligation— to use the service again; or to pay a fee of more than the amount prescribed under a regulation or, if no amount is prescribed, of more than $100; and a person to whom the information is given by the information provider is not, by using the information service, placed under an obligation— to use the service again; or to pay a fee of more than the amount prescribed under a regulation or, if no amount is prescribed, of more than $100.
(sec.14-ssec.2) Subsection (1) (b) (ii) and (c)(ii) does not apply if the fees for giving information to, or obtaining information from, an information service are based on the length of time a person has electronic or mechanical access to the information service and the length of the time is automatically recorded by electronic or mechanical means.
(sec.14-ssec.3) In this section— information service means a service under which details of persons interested in having a personal relationship, or in attending a social outing, with 1 or more other persons are provided.
- (a) a person can obtain details of persons who might be interested in having a personal relationship, or in attending a social outing, with 1 or more other persons from the information service without the need to speak to, or to otherwise communicate personally and directly with, the information provider or an employee of the information provider; and
- (b) a person who gives information to the information provider or an employee of the information provider for the purpose of having the information given to other persons is not, by giving the information, placed under an obligation— (i) to use the service again; or (ii) to pay a fee of more than the amount prescribed under a regulation or, if no amount is prescribed, of more than $100; and
- (i) to use the service again; or
- (ii) to pay a fee of more than the amount prescribed under a regulation or, if no amount is prescribed, of more than $100; and
- (c) a person to whom the information is given by the information provider is not, by using the information service, placed under an obligation— (i) to use the service again; or (ii) to pay a fee of more than the amount prescribed under a regulation or, if no amount is prescribed, of more than $100.
- (i) to use the service again; or
- (ii) to pay a fee of more than the amount prescribed under a regulation or, if no amount is prescribed, of more than $100.
- (i) to use the service again; or
- (ii) to pay a fee of more than the amount prescribed under a regulation or, if no amount is prescribed, of more than $100; and
- (i) to use the service again; or
- (ii) to pay a fee of more than the amount prescribed under a regulation or, if no amount is prescribed, of more than $100.
