### sec.47 Particular entities not required to be registered
The following entities may carry out a lobbying activity without being a registered lobbyist—
a non-profit entity but only if the purpose of the lobbying activity is to represent the interests of the entity;
a charity
a club
a society for environmental protection
an entity constituted to represent the interests of its members but only if the purpose of the lobbying activity is to represent the interests of its members;
an industrial organisation under the Industrial Relations Act 2016
a professional body, for example, the Queensland Law Society
a member of a trade delegation visiting Queensland but only if the purpose of the lobbying activity is to represent the interests of the delegation;
an officer or employee of an entity mentioned in paragraph (a) , (b) or (c) .
In this section—
non-profit entity means an entity that—
is not carried on for profit or gain to its individual members; and
is, under the entity’s constitution, prohibited from making any distribution, whether in money, property or otherwise, to its members.

(sec.47-ssec.1) The following entities may carry out a lobbying activity without being a registered lobbyist— a non-profit entity but only if the purpose of the lobbying activity is to represent the interests of the entity; a charity a club a society for environmental protection an entity constituted to represent the interests of its members but only if the purpose of the lobbying activity is to represent the interests of its members; an industrial organisation under the Industrial Relations Act 2016 a professional body, for example, the Queensland Law Society a member of a trade delegation visiting Queensland but only if the purpose of the lobbying activity is to represent the interests of the delegation; an officer or employee of an entity mentioned in paragraph (a) , (b) or (c) .
(sec.47-ssec.2) In this section— non-profit entity means an entity that— is not carried on for profit or gain to its individual members; and is, under the entity’s constitution, prohibited from making any distribution, whether in money, property or otherwise, to its members.
