36 Privacy complaint may be referred to commissioner
(1) A privacy complaint may be referred to the information privacy
commissioner by any of the following:
(a) the ombudsman;
(b) the human rights commission;
(c) an entity having functions, under a State or Commonwealth law
that corresponds to this Act, that correspond to the functions of
the information privacy commissioner;
(d) an entity prescribed by regulation.
(2) If an entity mentioned in subsection (1) refers a privacy complaint to
the information privacy commissioner, the entity must—
(a) give the commissioner any information the entity has in relation
to the complaint; and
(b) tell the complainant about the referral.
