### sec.899 Appointment of inspectors
The Governor in Council may, by gazette notice, appoint a person as the chief inspector.
The chief executive may, by instrument in writing, appoint a person as an inspector.
However, a person may be appointed as an inspector only if—
the person is—
a public service officer or employee; or
an inspector under the Further Education and Training Act 2014 ; or
a person with the qualifications prescribed by regulation; and
the Governor in Council or chief executive making the appointment is satisfied the person is appropriately qualified.
While the person is an inspector, the person is also an inspector for—
the Child Employment Act 2006 ; and
the Pastoral Workers’ Accommodation Act 1980 ; and
the Trading (Allowable Hours) Act 1990 ; and
the Workers’ Accommodation Act 1952 .
An inspector is employed under the Public Sector Act 2022 .

(sec.899-ssec.5) An inspector is employed under the Public Sector Act 2022 .
- (a) the person is— (i) a public service officer or employee; or (ii) an inspector under the Further Education and Training Act 2014 ; or (iii) a person with the qualifications prescribed by regulation; and
- (i) a public service officer or employee; or
- (ii) an inspector under the Further Education and Training Act 2014 ; or
- (iii) a person with the qualifications prescribed by regulation; and
- (b) the Governor in Council or chief executive making the appointment is satisfied the person is appropriately qualified.
- (i) a public service officer or employee; or
- (ii) an inspector under the Further Education and Training Act 2014 ; or
- (iii) a person with the qualifications prescribed by regulation; and
- (a) the Child Employment Act 2006 ; and
- (b) the Pastoral Workers’ Accommodation Act 1980 ; and
- (c) the Trading (Allowable Hours) Act 1990 ; and
- (d) the Workers’ Accommodation Act 1952 .
