### sec.812 Who may apply An organisation or branch of an organisation may apply to the registrar for an exemption from the requirement that the electoral commission conduct— elections for the organisation or branch; or an election for a particular office for the organisation or branch. For this section, if an organisation’s rules require an office for the organisation to be filled by an election by the members, or by some of the members, of 1 branch of the organisation, an election to fill the office is taken to be an election for the branch. (sec.812-ssec.1) An organisation or branch of an organisation may apply to the registrar for an exemption from the requirement that the electoral commission conduct— elections for the organisation or branch; or an election for a particular office for the organisation or branch. (sec.812-ssec.2) For this section, if an organisation’s rules require an office for the organisation to be filled by an election by the members, or by some of the members, of 1 branch of the organisation, an election to fill the office is taken to be an election for the branch. - (a) elections for the organisation or branch; or - (b) an election for a particular office for the organisation or branch.
