### sec.507 Magistrates’ jurisdiction is exclusive
The jurisdiction conferred on a magistrate by this Act or another Act is exclusive of the jurisdiction of another court or tribunal, unless this or the other Act provides otherwise.
Jurisdiction conferred on a magistrate for the following matters is not exclusive of another court’s jurisdiction—
a claim for an employee’s wages payable under an agreement in which wages are payable at a price or rate higher than that fixed by a relevant industrial instrument or permit or under section 22 ;
a claim for an employee’s wages payable under an agreement in which wages are payable at a price or rate higher than that fixed by a relevant industrial instrument or permit;
a claim for an employee’s wages payable under an agreement in which wages are payable at a price or rate that is not fixed by a relevant industrial instrument or permit;
a claim for amounts payable, with an employee’s written consent, from an employee’s wages;
a claim for the repayment of a fee received by a private employment agent in contravention of section 346 (1) or (2) .
In this section—
fee includes charge, expense of any kind and reward.
(sec.507-ssec.1) The jurisdiction conferred on a magistrate by this Act or another Act is exclusive of the jurisdiction of another court or tribunal, unless this or the other Act provides otherwise.
(sec.507-ssec.2) Jurisdiction conferred on a magistrate for the following matters is not exclusive of another court’s jurisdiction— a claim for an employee’s wages payable under an agreement in which wages are payable at a price or rate higher than that fixed by a relevant industrial instrument or permit or under section 22 ; a claim for an employee’s wages payable under an agreement in which wages are payable at a price or rate higher than that fixed by a relevant industrial instrument or permit; a claim for an employee’s wages payable under an agreement in which wages are payable at a price or rate that is not fixed by a relevant industrial instrument or permit; a claim for amounts payable, with an employee’s written consent, from an employee’s wages; a claim for the repayment of a fee received by a private employment agent in contravention of section 346 (1) or (2) .

- (a) a claim for an employee’s wages payable under an agreement in which wages are payable at a price or rate higher than that fixed by a relevant industrial instrument or permit or under section 22 ;
- (b) a claim for an employee’s wages payable under an agreement in which wages are payable at a price or rate higher than that fixed by a relevant industrial instrument or permit;
- (c) a claim for an employee’s wages payable under an agreement in which wages are payable at a price or rate that is not fixed by a relevant industrial instrument or permit;
- (d) a claim for amounts payable, with an employee’s written consent, from an employee’s wages;
- (e) a claim for the repayment of a fee received by a private employment agent in contravention of section 346 (1) or (2) .
