### sec.506 Magistrate’s jurisdiction
A magistrate has jurisdiction—
to exercise powers conferred on, or jurisdiction given to, magistrates by this Act or another Act; and
to hear and decide proceedings about the following matters—
an offence against this Act, unless the offence is one for which this Act makes other provision;
a claim for wages;
a claim for damages suffered by an employee because of the employer failing to pay the employee’s wages;
a claim for the repayment of a fee received by a private employment agent in contravention of section 400 (1) or (2) ;
a claim for damages for contravention of an agreement made under an industrial instrument;
a claim under chapter 9 , part 2 , division 2 .
A magistrate has jurisdiction throughout the State.
In this section—
fee includes charge, expense of any kind and reward.

(sec.506-ssec.2) A magistrate has jurisdiction throughout the State.

- (i) an offence against this Act, unless the offence is one for which this Act makes other provision;
