### sec.502 Incidental entry to ask for access For the purpose of asking the occupier for the consent, the authorised officer may, without the occupier’s consent or a warrant— enter land around a building or other structure at the place to an extent that is reasonable to contact the occupier; or enter part of the place the officer reasonably believes members of the public ordinarily are allowed to enter when they wish to contact the occupier. The authorised officer must not enter land or a part of a place under subsection (1) if the officer knows or ought reasonably to know the place is unattended. If the authorised officer enters land or a part of a place under subsection (1) , the officer must leave it immediately after finding the place is or appears to be unattended.
