### sec.79 Power to check applicant’s criminal history
Before deciding an application for registration, a National Board must check the applicant’s criminal history.
For the purposes of checking an applicant’s criminal history, a National Board may obtain a written report about the criminal history of the applicant from any of the following—
ACC;
a police commissioner;
an entity in a jurisdiction outside Australia that has access to records about the criminal history of persons in that jurisdiction.
A criminal history law does not apply to a report about an applicant’s criminal history under subsection (2) .

(sec.79-ssec.1) Before deciding an application for registration, a National Board must check the applicant’s criminal history.
(sec.79-ssec.2) For the purposes of checking an applicant’s criminal history, a National Board may obtain a written report about the criminal history of the applicant from any of the following— ACC; a police commissioner; an entity in a jurisdiction outside Australia that has access to records about the criminal history of persons in that jurisdiction.
