### sec.57 Existing board of directors
If a candidate GOC has a board of directors or an equivalent body, it is the role of the board or body—
to take the steps that the responsible Ministers direct regarding the implementation of the candidate GOC’s corporatisation charter; and
to ensure that the candidate GOC otherwise performs its functions in a proper, efficient and effective way.
