### sec.301 Requirements for surrender A geothermal tenure holder may surrender all or part of the tenure’s area only if, under this part— an application (a surrender application ) has been made for approval of the surrender; and the surrender has been approved. In this section— surrender does not include a relinquishment of an area if the relinquishment is required or authorised under— the relinquishment condition; or a penalty relinquishment.
