### sec.325A Appointment and qualifications The commissioner may appoint a person as an inspector. However, a person may be appointed as an inspector only if— the person is— a public service officer or public service employee; or a member of a class of persons prescribed under a regulation; and the commissioner is satisfied the person is qualified for the appointment because— the person has the necessary expertise or experience; or the commissioner considers the person has the ability to quickly acquire the necessary expertise; and the commissioner is satisfied the person is a suitable person to be an inspector, having regard to— the person’s character; and the person’s current financial position and financial background; and any other matter the commissioner considers relevant to the person’s suitability to be an inspector. s 325A ins 2005 No. 12 s 49 amd 2008 No. 2 s 56 ; 2012 No. 25 s 109 (1) ; 2022 No. 34 s 365 sch 3 (sec.325A-ssec.1) The commissioner may appoint a person as an inspector.
