### sec.256 Wrongful dealing with genuine evidence of age
A person must not knowingly give a document that is evidence of age of the person mentioned in the document (the specified person ) to someone else, if the person giving the document knows or has reasonable grounds to suspect that the document may be used—
as evidence of age for this Act of someone other than the specified person; or
to obtain a document that is acceptable evidence of age for this Act of someone other than the specified person.
Maximum penalty—40 penalty units.
A person must not wilfully or negligently deface or interfere with a document that is, for the purposes of this Act, acceptable evidence of age of the person or another person.

- (a) as evidence of age for this Act of someone other than the specified person; or
- (b) to obtain a document that is acceptable evidence of age for this Act of someone other than the specified person.
