### sec.17 Powers of commissioner
The commissioner has the powers given to the commissioner under this or another Act.
The commissioner may do all things necessary or convenient to be done in performing the commissioner’s functions or exercising the commissioner’s powers.
The commissioner may on the commissioner’s own initiative, and must if asked by the Minister, provide the Minister with advice on—
the operation of this Act or any other gaming Act that assigns functions to the commissioner; or
issues related to gambling (including the identification of issues requiring further research) under this Act or another Act that assigns functions to the commissioner.

(sec.17-ssec.1) The commissioner has the powers given to the commissioner under this or another Act.
