### sec.144 Production or display of inspector’s identity card
This section does not apply to a police officer.
An inspector may exercise a power under this Act in relation to a person only if—
the inspector first produces the inspector’s identity card for inspection by the person; or
the inspector has the inspector’s identity card displayed so that it is clearly visible to the person.
However, if for any reason, it is not practicable to comply with subsection (2) , the inspector must produce the identity card for inspection by the person at the first reasonable opportunity.
For subsection (2) , an inspector does not exercise a power in relation to another person only because the inspector has entered a place as mentioned in section 145 (1) (b) .
Failure to comply with this section does not affect the validity of the exercise of a power under this Act.

(sec.144-ssec.1) This section does not apply to a police officer.
