### sec.586A Existing authority becomes an environmental authority (mining activities)
This section applies if, on 1 January 2001—
an environmental authority had been issued; and
the authority was for, or included, a mining activity; and
the authority could not take effect until a mining tenement was granted.
From the day the tenement was or is granted, the authority is taken to be an environmental authority (mining activities).
Chapter 5 applies to the authority, subject to division 4.

(sec.586A-ssec.1) This section applies if, on 1 January 2001— an environmental authority had been issued; and the authority was for, or included, a mining activity; and the authority could not take effect until a mining tenement was granted.
(sec.586A-ssec.2) From the day the tenement was or is granted, the authority is taken to be an environmental authority (mining activities).
(sec.586A-ssec.3) Chapter 5 applies to the authority, subject to division 4.

- (b) the authority was for, or included, a mining activity; and
- (c) the authority could not take effect until a mining tenement was granted.
