### sec.148 Issue of identity card
The regulator must issue an identity card to each inspection officer.
The identity card must—
contain a recent photo of the inspection officer; and
contain a copy of the inspection officer’s signature; and
identify the person as an inspection officer under this Act; and
state an expiry date for the card.
This section does not prevent the issue of a single identity card to a person for this Act and for other purposes.
If the inspection officer is also an inspector under the Electrical Safety Act , the chief executive under that Act, and the regulator under this Act, could together issue a combined identity card covering the purposes of both Acts.

(sec.148-ssec.1) The regulator must issue an identity card to each inspection officer.
(sec.148-ssec.2) The identity card must— contain a recent photo of the inspection officer; and contain a copy of the inspection officer’s signature; and identify the person as an inspection officer under this Act; and state an expiry date for the card.
(sec.148-ssec.3) This section does not prevent the issue of a single identity card to a person for this Act and for other purposes. If the inspection officer is also an inspector under the Electrical Safety Act , the chief executive under that Act, and the regulator under this Act, could together issue a combined identity card covering the purposes of both Acts.
- (a) contain a recent photo of the inspection officer; and
- (b) contain a copy of the inspection officer’s signature; and
- (c) identify the person as an inspection officer under this Act; and
- (d) state an expiry date for the card.
