### sec.146 Appointment and qualifications
The regulator may appoint any of the following persons as an inspection officer—
an inspector under the Electrical Safety Act ;
a public service officer;
an employee of—
an electricity entity; or
an electricity entity’s subsidiary company;
a person prescribed under a regulation.
However, the regulator may appoint a person mentioned in subsection (1) (b) , (c) or (d) as an inspection officer only if—
the regulator is satisfied the person is qualified for appointment because the person has the necessary expertise or experience; or
the person has satisfactorily finished training approved by the regulator.

(sec.146-ssec.1) The regulator may appoint any of the following persons as an inspection officer— an inspector under the Electrical Safety Act ; a public service officer; an employee of— an electricity entity; or an electricity entity’s subsidiary company; a person prescribed under a regulation.
(sec.146-ssec.2) However, the regulator may appoint a person mentioned in subsection (1) (b) , (c) or (d) as an inspection officer only if— the regulator is satisfied the person is qualified for appointment because the person has the necessary expertise or experience; or the person has satisfactorily finished training approved by the regulator.
- (a) an inspector under the Electrical Safety Act ;
- (b) a public service officer;
- (c) an employee of— (i) an electricity entity; or (ii) an electricity entity’s subsidiary company;
- (i) an electricity entity; or
- (ii) an electricity entity’s subsidiary company;
- (d) a person prescribed under a regulation.
- (i) an electricity entity; or
- (ii) an electricity entity’s subsidiary company;
- (a) the regulator is satisfied the person is qualified for appointment because the person has the necessary expertise or experience; or
- (b) the person has satisfactorily finished training approved by the regulator.
