### sec.42 Ministerial notice about discharging electrical safety duty
This section applies if the Minister has identified circumstances of electrical risk for persons or property and considers that urgent action should be taken to deal with the electrical risk.
The Minister may make a notice that prescribes a way of discharging a person’s electrical safety duty in relation to the electrical risk.
The notice expires—
1 year from the day it is notified; or
on an earlier day stated in the notice.
However, a regulation may extend the notice’s operation for a further period of not more than 1 year.
If a notice is inconsistent with a regulation or code of practice, the notice prevails to the extent of the inconsistency.
A notice is subordinate legislation.
