### sec.143 Transitional provision for Justice and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2008, pt 10—notice to witness
This section applies if, before the commencement of this section, a witness is given a notice to witness in relation to a person committed for trial.
Sections 29 and 63, as in force immediately before the commencement of this section, continue to have effect in relation to the notice to witness until—
the proceeding in relation to the accused person is concluded; or
the court otherwise directs; or
3 years after the commencement of this section;
whichever happens first.

(sec.143-ssec.1) This section applies if, before the commencement of this section, a witness is given a notice to witness in relation to a person committed for trial.
(sec.143-ssec.2) Sections 29 and 63, as in force immediately before the commencement of this section, continue to have effect in relation to the notice to witness until— the proceeding in relation to the accused person is concluded; or the court otherwise directs; or 3 years after the commencement of this section; whichever happens first.
- (a) the proceeding in relation to the accused person is concluded; or
- (b) the court otherwise directs; or
- (c) 3 years after the commencement of this section;
