### sec.224 Public trustee’s liability for rates etc.
On taking control of property under a restraining order, the public trustee becomes liable, to the extent of the rents and profits received by the public trustee from the property on or after that date, to pay any rates, land tax or municipal or other statutory charges that—
are imposed under a law of the State on or in relation to the restrained property; and
become payable on or after the date of the restraining order.
Also, if the public trustee takes control of a person’s business under a restraining order and carries on that business, the public trustee is not personally liable for—
any payment for long service leave for which that person was liable; or
any payment for long service leave to which a person employed by the public trustee to manage the business, or the legal personal representative of that person, becomes entitled after the date of the restraining order; or
any debts incurred by the person in relation to the business that the person was liable to pay.

- (a) are imposed under a law of the State on or in relation to the restrained property; and
- (b) become payable on or after the date of the restraining order.
