### sec.81G Form of notice to discover
A notice to discover must—
state that it relates to—
a crime investigation; or
a specific intelligence operation (crime); or
a corruption investigation; or
a specific intelligence operation (corruption); and
identify the general nature of the information sought by reference to a particular matter or particular type of information; and
state a reasonable period within which the information is to be given; and
without limiting section 81E (4) or 81F (4) , state the way in which the information is to be given; and
state how the person given the notice may make a claim of reasonable excuse.
A notice to discover may state—
that a person acting for the person to whom it is directed may comply with the notice; and
the person or class of person who may act for the person to whom the notice is directed.

(sec.81G-ssec.1) A notice to discover must— state that it relates to— a crime investigation; or a specific intelligence operation (crime); or a corruption investigation; or a specific intelligence operation (corruption); and identify the general nature of the information sought by reference to a particular matter or particular type of information; and state a reasonable period within which the information is to be given; and without limiting section 81E (4) or 81F (4) , state the way in which the information is to be given; and state how the person given the notice may make a claim of reasonable excuse.
(sec.81G-ssec.2) A notice to discover may state— that a person acting for the person to whom it is directed may comply with the notice; and the person or class of person who may act for the person to whom the notice is directed.
- (a) state that it relates to— (i) a crime investigation; or (ii) a specific intelligence operation (crime); or (iii) a corruption investigation; or (iv) a specific intelligence operation (corruption); and
- (i) a crime investigation; or
- (ii) a specific intelligence operation (crime); or
- (iii) a corruption investigation; or
- (iv) a specific intelligence operation (corruption); and
- (b) identify the general nature of the information sought by reference to a particular matter or particular type of information; and
- (c) state a reasonable period within which the information is to be given; and
- (d) without limiting section 81E (4) or 81F (4) , state the way in which the information is to be given; and
- (e) state how the person given the notice may make a claim of reasonable excuse.
- (i) a crime investigation; or
- (ii) a specific intelligence operation (crime); or
- (iii) a corruption investigation; or
- (iv) a specific intelligence operation (corruption); and
- (a) that a person acting for the person to whom it is directed may comply with the notice; and
- (b) the person or class of person who may act for the person to whom the notice is directed.
