### sec.81D Power to require immediate production
This section applies if the presiding officer at a commission hearing believes on reasonable grounds that a witness at the hearing possesses a document or thing relevant to the investigation or operation.
The presiding officer may require the witness to produce the document or thing immediately (an immediate production requirement (hearing) ).
For the offence of refusal to produce the document or thing, see section 185 .
The presiding officer may adjourn the hearing to allow the witness to comply with the immediate production requirement (hearing).
The witness does not, by complying with the immediate production requirement (hearing)—
contravene a provision of an Act or a law imposing a statutory or commercial obligation or restriction to maintain secrecy in relation to the document or thing; or
incur any civil liability in relation to the document or thing.
