### sec.307 Appointment of parliamentary commissioner
The parliamentary commissioner must be appointed by the Speaker as an officer of the parliamentary service under the Parliamentary Service Act 1988 .
However—
the parliamentary commissioner can not be dismissed or suspended without the bipartisan support of the parliamentary committee; and
the Parliamentary Service Act 1988 , sections 43 and 44 do not apply to the position of parliamentary commissioner.
Within 7 sitting days after the appointment of the parliamentary commissioner, the Speaker must table in the Legislative Assembly notice of the appointment.
(sec.307-ssec.1) The parliamentary commissioner must be appointed by the Speaker as an officer of the parliamentary service under the Parliamentary Service Act 1988 .
