### sec.252 Role of chairperson
The chairperson—
is the chair of the commission; and
is responsible for the proper performance of the commission’s functions delegated to the chairperson under section 269 .
The chairperson is to—
perform the functions, and exercise the powers, of the commission delegated to the chairperson under section 269 ; and
perform the other functions, and exercise the other powers, conferred on the chairperson under this Act or another Act.
The chairperson is to report to the commission on the performance of the commission’s functions, but is not subject to the direction of the commission in the performance of a function or exercise of a power in an investigation, hearing, operation or other proceeding under this Act or another Act.
Anything done in the commission’s name by the chairperson or the chairperson’s delegate is taken to have been done by the commission.
