### sec.248 Basis of employment for senior officers
Each person appointed as a senior officer must enter into a written contract of employment with the commission.
The conditions of the person’s contract must be approved by the Minister.
The person’s conditions of employment are governed by this Act and the contract.
The contract of employment must state—
subject to section 247 , the term, not longer than 5 years, of the person’s employment; and
the person’s duties; and
that the person must meet any performance standards set by the chief executive officer; and
the remuneration to which the person is entitled; and
that the person may resign by signed notice of resignation given to the chief executive officer at least 1 month before the notice is to take effect; and
that the person’s appointment and contract of employment may be terminated by the chief executive officer by notice signed by the chief executive officer and given to the person at least 1 month before it is to take effect.
