### sec.245 Senior officers
The commission may employ the senior officers necessary to enable the commission to perform its functions.
Senior officers are to be employed under this Act and not under the Public Sector Act 2022 .
The commission must employ—
a senior officer who is responsible to the chairperson for the proper performance of the commission’s crime functions (the senior executive officer (crime) ); and
a senior officer who is responsible to the chairperson for the proper performance of the commission’s corruption functions (the senior executive officer (corruption) ).
In the performance of the commission’s functions or exercise of the commission’s powers, senior officers are subject to the direction and control of the chairperson.
In this section—
senior officer means a person who, in the chief executive officer’s opinion, is performing duties that would, if the person were a public service officer, be duties of a senior executive.

(sec.245-ssec.1) The commission may employ the senior officers necessary to enable the commission to perform its functions.
(sec.245-ssec.2) Senior officers are to be employed under this Act and not under the Public Sector Act 2022 .
(sec.245-ssec.3) The commission must employ— a senior officer who is responsible to the chairperson for the proper performance of the commission’s crime functions (the senior executive officer (crime) ); and a senior officer who is responsible to the chairperson for the proper performance of the commission’s corruption functions (the senior executive officer (corruption) ).
(sec.245-ssec.4) In the performance of the commission’s functions or exercise of the commission’s powers, senior officers are subject to the direction and control of the chairperson.

- (a) a senior officer who is responsible to the chairperson for the proper performance of the commission’s crime functions (the senior executive officer (crime) ); and
- (b) a senior officer who is responsible to the chairperson for the proper performance of the commission’s corruption functions (the senior executive officer (corruption) ).
