### sec.310 Court cells
A person who is not a prisoner of a court may be detained in a court cell if the person is lawfully in custody to attend before a court or another entity.
While detained in the court cell, the person is in the custody of the proper officer of the court where the court cell is located.
The proper officer of the court is responsible for the management, security and good order of the court cell, despite anything in the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000 or the Police Service Administration Act 1990 .
In this section—
court cell means a place attached to or near a court that—
is not a corrective services facility; and
is used for detaining prisoners of the court and other persons.

(sec.310-ssec.1) A person who is not a prisoner of a court may be detained in a court cell if the person is lawfully in custody to attend before a court or another entity.
(sec.310-ssec.2) While detained in the court cell, the person is in the custody of the proper officer of the court where the court cell is located.
(sec.310-ssec.3) The proper officer of the court is responsible for the management, security and good order of the court cell, despite anything in the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000 or the Police Service Administration Act 1990 .
(sec.310-ssec.4) In this section— court cell means a place attached to or near a court that— is not a corrective services facility; and is used for detaining prisoners of the court and other persons.
- (a) is not a corrective services facility; and
- (b) is used for detaining prisoners of the court and other persons.
