### sec.189 Appearing before parole board
A prisoner’s agent may, with the parole board’s leave, appear before the board to make representations in support of the prisoner’s application for a parole order that may be heard and decided by the board.
This section does not stop the parole board deciding an application for a parole order if the prisoner or the prisoner’s agent fails to appear before the board.
In this section—
appear , before the parole board, means—
appear by using a contemporaneous communication link between the board and the prisoner or the prisoner’s agent; or
if the person appearing is a prisoner with a special need—appear personally.
