### sec.71 Safety checks by competent person
A coal mine’s safety and health management system must provide for—
fixed and mobile plant used at the mine to be checked for hazards that might reasonably be expected from operating the plant; and
the checks to be carried out—
by a person competent in recognising the hazards; and
periodically and, if the plant has been stopped for at least 24 hours, before the plant is started again.
