### sec.322 Preventing dangerous subsidence
This section applies if coal extraction at an underground mine is likely to cause subsidence resulting in an unacceptable level of risk.
The site senior executive for the mine must ensure—
the amount of coal extracted does not cause the subsidence; and
appropriate measures are taken to ensure the long-term stability of the surface.
