### sec.198 Traction battery powered vehicles
The site senior executive for an underground mine must ensure—
a vehicle powered by a traction battery and used at the mine is fitted with a detector for, and protection from, battery earth leakage current; and
the traction battery is adequately ventilated to prevent accumulations of explosive mixtures of hydrogen and air forming in the battery’s immediate vicinity.
