### sec.175 Extension of time for giving summary return For section 174 (1) or (4) , a person who is elected as a councillor may make a written request to the Minister to allow a longer period for giving a summary return. The request must be made before the following period (the relevant period ) ends— for section 174 (1) , the required period; for section 174 (4) , the period mentioned in section 174 (4) (a) . If, when the relevant period ends, the Minister has not decided the request, the relevant period is taken to be extended until the date of the notice of the Minister’s decision on the request.
