### sec.51AH Extension of temporary custody orders
An authorised officer may apply to a magistrate for an order to extend the term of a temporary custody order for a child.
This part applies, with all necessary changes, to the application as if it were an application for a temporary custody order.
The magistrate may extend the temporary custody order only if the magistrate is satisfied the order has not ended.
The temporary custody order may be extended until the end of the next business day after it would otherwise have ended if the magistrate is satisfied the litigation director intends to apply for a child protection order for the child within the extended term.
Unless subsection (4) applies, the temporary custody order may not be extended to a time ending more than 3 business days after the day it was made.
A temporary custody order may not be extended more than once under subsection (4) .
